Call for Papers for the First Prize of the Journal on AI Policy and Complex Systems
We are excited to announce a call for papers for the special edition of the Journal on AI Policy and Complex Systems. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals from various backgrounds to engage in the dynamic field of AI and complex systems, have their papers published by an outstanding peer-reviewed journal, and, on top of that, have the chance to win a prize.
The prize consists of $600 for the first place and $200 for the second and third place each. Every submission has the chance to win, and the top ten will be published in the Autumn Special edition of the Journal on AI Policy and Complex Systems. The Journal is open access, and there are no submission fees; we are working to bring quality and peer-reviewed papers to a broader public, democratising access to information. You can find all the details about the prize, eligibility and timeline on this page; if there are any questions, please contact [email protected].
Introduction
In today's rapidly advancing technological landscape, the study of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and complex systems has become increasingly relevant and indispensable. With its far-reaching capabilities, AI is revolutionising how we approach and solve complex problems, enhancing decision-making processes across diverse sectors such as healthcare, finance, environmental science, and beyond. Meanwhile, understanding complex systems — networks characterised by intricate, interdependent components — is crucial in comprehending the multifaceted challenges posed by AI integration into society.
Studying these fields opens new frontiers for innovation and equips us to anticipate better, manage, and mitigate the potential risks and ethical concerns associated with AI deployment. Thus, delving into the intricacies of AI and complex systems is a pursuit of scientific and technological advancement and a necessary step towards responsible and sustainable development in an increasingly interconnected world. Topics of interest include but are not limited to new developments in the following areas:
Eligibility: Open to all, irrespective of academic level.
Key Themes: AI Policy and Complex Systems.
AI Topics:
Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis by a group of distinguished guest editors. The first round of reviews will be ready by the end of June when we allow the authors to make final edits and corrections; the final version might be submitted by 22/08/2024. Winners will be announced on the first day of Autumn, the 22nd of September of 2024, and the special edition will be published In October 2024.
Evaluation Criteria:
This is a chance to contribute to AI and complex systems and compete for a significant prize!
